I am a beginner. But let me tell you this yarn is gorgeous, soft, and luxurious. It splices very well and is fairly easy to work with once you get a feel for it. For a beginner the thicker yarns and bigger needles are easier to handle and very satisfying because you can crank out a piece so quickly compared to smaller yarns. I bought several packs in the breezy sky, medallion, cloudy day, and deep sea to knit scarves for my family and they were astonishingly perfect. Although very soft, there is a slight sheen to the yarn when it is knit up that looks so divine. Highly, highly recommend. Will be buying more packs. Great value when on sale to boot. Also, used US 15 needles to knit some and switched to 13 for some and either work very well but the 13 was more dense and held shape better while the 15s were softer and fluffier. The cloudy day color is an absolutely beautiful designer-y warm grey.
