Sport weight yarn is a great choice for shawls, sweaters, thick winter socks, and accessories. Sport weight yarn is also an excellent option for baby and children’s knits as it provides a lovely, light warmth without adding bulk. Sport weight yarn can be knit across a variety of gauges, as densely as 5.75 stitches to the inch for a warm, wind-resistant sweater or as loosely as 2.5 stitches to the inch for a fabric with beautiful drape.
