What is Local Yarn Store Day?

Local Yarn Store Day is a yearly event on the last Saturday of April, and it’s a great day for yarn lovers. The National Needle Arts Association (TNNA) created this fiber artists’ holiday to celebrate crafting and promote foot traffic to local yarn stores in the United States and Canada. To prepare for the event, yarn shops offer unique products usually available in limited quantities. Saturday, April 27th will be the seventh annual LYS, or Local Yarn Store Day!

Why shop Yarnalia at Local Yarn Stores?

In the age of instant shopping gratification, there’s something special about shopping our yarns in person at a local yarn store. As you explore our offering of bases from lace-weight to bulky, you’ll get an accurate look at each yarn’s colors, handle the fibers, and lay out all your favorites for your next project. You can’t possibly know the fluffy lightness of a ball of Joy, our 100% baby alpaca, lace-weight yarn, or experience the softness and durability of Marvel, without feeling it for yourself.

Yarnalia Stockists

What better way to celebrate Local Yarn Store Day this Saturday, April 27th, than to grab your yarn-loving besties and get to one of our stockists to experience Yarnalia yarn in person?

Let us introduce you to four featured local yarn shops that carry Yarnalia!

Mobile Yarn – Mobile, Alabama

“Mobile Yarn is a friendly and welcoming local yarn shop, offering a wide selection of beautiful yarns, needles, hooks, patterns, and accessories for all levels of knitting and crochet.” The shop offers knitting and crochet classes, and private lessons upon request. Mobile is celebrating LYS Day with deals and prizes for their shoppers! You can find your Yarnalia favorites like Skylark, our 100% Superwash fingering wool, or our superwash/acrylic blend, Wonder.

Strikke Yarn & Supply

Located in Bothell, WA, and online, Strikke Yarn & Supply has a beautiful, squishy display of our Wonder and Fluffy yarns. “Strikke (strick-eh) is the Norwegian & Danish word for knit.” The shop hosts knitting classes covering everything from knitting basics by following a striped Triangular shawl pattern, to a more complex Heirloom Quilt cardigan. Pick up your favorite Yarnalia fibers and begin a project that inspires you with one of Strikke’s classes. “Most of all, we want you to feel good because you are doing something you love. So pick what feels right, carve out time to relax, unwind, and get cozy.”

Creating Sew Much

Located in Albert Lee, MN, Creating Sew Much is Yarnalia’s newest stockist. The shop offers yarn and other supplies for knitters and crocheters alike. In addition, they provide sewing machine service and classes for crafters! And the best news? They’re using Yarnalia yarns for their classes! “Here at Creating Sew Much our focus is for you to enjoy your craft, whether it’s sewing, knitting, crochet, or many more, we’re here to support you on your creative journey.”

Good Grief Yarn & Provisions

Good Grief, located in Toronto, Ontario, will welcome you (and your dogs!) through the soft pink exterior into an oasis of yarn.
