Here at Yarnalia, we celebrate makers every day, however, the month of May is dedicated to honoring and celebrating crafters and their creativity. Whether you knit, crochet, or weave, we’ve got your bases covered- literally– we carry fibers from lace weight in our 100% Baby Alpaca, Joy, all the way up to Softy, our bulky weight 100% Merino wool. Our yarns are available as single skeins and multi-packs, allowing you to order exactly what you need for your next project!
What Does it Mean to be a Maker?
A maker is someone who experiments with various mediums, creating and crafting. If you’re here, you’re a maker! (Or you love a maker and support their hobby). Here at Yarnalia, we celebrate your creative journey. Your only limit to creating is your imagination!
This month, we highlight two makers, Jain and Andrea, who have used Yarnalia yarns for their stunning creations.
Jain
Meet Jain of @maumknit! Jain has made several projects using Yarnalia. One of our favorite pieces she’s completed is the Sophie Scarf by Petite Knit. The Sophie Scarf is a neck tie that can be knit in two sizes depending on your preference. With its classic, meditative garter stitches and polished icord edges, the simplicity of the design really lets Yarnalia yarn shine! Jain held both Skylark and Joy doubled in our buttermilk colorway, creating a neutral, very wearable piece. Joy adds incredible softness and a subtle halo to the already feather-soft Skylark, making for an unbelievably supple, easy accessory.
Jain is a pastry chef and became so inspired by the soft neutral tone of our Buttermilk colorway, that she even made an accompanying dessert, an Earl Grey and green tangerine mousse. Both the scarf and the dessert look delicious to us!
As a tester for Atelyeah’s design, the Paula sweater, Jain selected Skylark in our snow colorway to create her very first cables. Skylark has the right softness and drape to knit this gorgeous cable-knit sweater.
Searching for the perfect combination of yarns to hold double-stranded for your next project? Enter Wooly and Joy. Our 100% Baby Alpaca Joy is once again the ideal addition to add softness to Wooly, our 100% Superwash Merino wool. This combination knits up so beautifully and is unbelievably soft. Jain knit Ozetta’s classic Traveler’s Cardigan in Wooly feather colorway and Joy Silver Dream colorway and it is an instant classic – a staple for your wardrobe.
Jain says of our yarns, “I love Yarnalia yarns as they provide a wide range of quality products that suit all of my knitting needs. All of Yarnalia yarns are very versatile. Joy, especially, makes everything so much softer and more luxurious instantly, it’s quickly become my staple ‘…hold together with!!’ ”
Andrea
Andrea of @cosmaudi is a crochet designer who designs garments and accessories for the modern crocheter. Andrea’s pattern, the Tempest Sweater is a top-down, seamless turtleneck sweater crafted with our single-ply fingering weight yarn, Skylark held together with our space-dyed yarn, Stormy. The combination of fibers creates this dreamy marled look that adds a fun twist to a classic sweater.
We hope that seeing our yarns knit and crocheted by these creative makers has inspired you! Now through 5/31, our entire line of yarns is currently 20% off! It’s the perfect time to stock up on your next few projects!
