CELEBRATE LOCAL YARN STORE DAY WITH YARNALIA

Did you know that Local Yarn Store Day began in 2018 as a way to highlight the unique role independently owned yarn shops play in their communities? Organized by The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA), the event encourages crafters to shop locally, explore exclusive patterns, and participate in special activities. It has since become an annual tradition, that is highly anticipated by yarn lovers and local stores alike.

There’s nothing better than getting your hands on a skein of yarn you’ve had your eyes on. The squish, the scent, the feel — it can only be experienced in person; this is where Yarnalia stockists come in. Shop the range of weights, fibers and colors we have to offer in one of the many local yarn shops in the US and Canada that carry Yarnalia. On Saturday, April 25th, we encourage you to support your local yarn shop and visit one near you. For the full list of yarn shops that carry our products, please visit our stockist page.

Allow us to introduce you to five featured local yarn shops that carry Yarnalia.

COZY – Eugene, Oregon

Our shop is Cozy, located in an historic building in downtown Eugene, Oregon. At Cozy, we love to celebrate color, texture, and all the techniques that bring the two together to create works of handmade art. We have yarns in every weight, in a rainbow of colors, and we hope to help knitters and crocheters turn their dreams–however quirky, creative, elaborate, or unusual–into reality.

Our favorite Yarnalia yarns, with both staff and shoppers alike, are Cloud and Cozy. Cloud, because it’s a lightweight, heavenly soft yarn that makes lightweight, heavenly soft projects; and Cozy, because, well… you know. We have carried Yarnalia yarns since discovering them at h+h in 2023.

CLEO’S YARN SHOP – Brooklyn, New York

When visiting Cleo’s Yarn Shop, people can expect a wide variety of joyfully colored yarns from near and afar. On any given day you can find a member of the Cleo’s staff making expert yarn recommendations, providing advice on patterns, or simply chatting with visitors. When asked what their favorite Yarnalia yarn is, lovely employee Cass states, “My favorite Yarnalia base to work with is Skylark. What stood out to me about this base is that it blocks exceptionally well and gives you a professional looking finish. I am now working on my second Miu top using Skylark!” Cass shares her beautiful top below.

Our top selling Yarnalia yarn is by far Joy (specifically the colors Snow and Scarlet)! Our customers seem to really love Joy (I mean, it’s hard not to) likely due to the luxurious fiber content and reasonable price point! I’ve noticed people have been especially gravitating towards Joy for filet crochet projects lately. We’ve been carrying Yarnalia since November of 2024.

One of the things that sets us apart from other yarn stores is that we are also a cafe and third space! Our shop is always open to those looking for a crafting centered third space, whether you’re here to crochet, knit, or just read a book- please join us!

Yarnalia has been part of our shop since day one—we’ve carried all of their bases since we opened our doors. It’s truly our go-to yarn. We love working with every base they offer and regularly feature Yarnalia yarns in our workshops and crochet-a-longs. Our favorite Yarnalia base to work with is Magic, a 100% pima cotton. It’s soft, breathable, and incredibly versatile—perfect for summer tops, giftable hand towels, and baby blankets. It’s a yarn our customers reach for again and again.

RIVER CITY YARN & FIBER – Jacksonville, Florida

River City Yarn & Fiber is the only full-service yarn-focused store in Jacksonville. Owner Sarah Gant designed it to be bright and have a Scandinavian vibe. While many yarn stores might order 6-10 colors in any particular line of yarn, many of their yarns are available in 20 to 40 colors. The impact is immediate when you enter the store. There is a dazzling display of fiber and colors everywhere! The primary goal of River City Yarn & Fiber is to satisfy established yarn users who are looking for high quality yarns and tools, but they are dedicated to the idea that every customer, whether they are looking for acrylics, cottons, or animal fibers, can find something that fits their project and budget.

Experienced and novice crafters alike are so excited to see Yarnalia because for many, this is the first time they have seen it in person. They love the fiber contents and the very competitive price points. Customer favorites are Cloud, Stormy and lately our new bestseller is Softy. Beginners like it because they can use large hooks or needles and really see the stitches.

River City Yarn & Fiber opened in December 2025 and we have been a Yarnalia stockist since day one! It is one of the few lines of yarn that I am already reordering!

THE YARN OUTFITTER – Arlington, Washington

The Yarn Outfitter is a yarn and fiber shop in beautiful downtown Arlington, WA. We aim to provide high quality yarn, fiber, tools, patterns, gifts, and education while fostering a welcoming maker community. When you walk in, you will receive a friendly welcome and then the space to check things out. Let us know when you want help. If you are local to our shop, we host two free socials per week with a pretty amazing bunch of people. You can shop with us in store or online. Please visit our website, Instagram, or Facebook for updates on hours, classes, and special events.

The Yarn Outfitter, owner, Sarah, loves to crochet, knit, spin, and help others learn these rewarding skills. She has a coffee habit that she has no desire to kick and loves the challenge of repairing knitting mistakes in any way but the tedious method of “tinking”.

We have been carrying Yarnalia for nearly a year now. The favorite (and best seller) amongst me and my customers this winter was definitely Cloud! It is so light and has incredible yardage. I have been using Joy as a companion yarn to add softness and a pop of color to my projects. Shifting with the seasons, I plan on using Skylark and Marvel more. Customers are loving Marvel for baby items and easy care tops.
